Obituary

Melvin Shyvir Green was born December 17, 2008, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the first born to Maleia Green.

Melvin united with the First Baptist Central at an early age under the leadership of Reverend P.W. Jackson, Sr., and was baptized with the guidance of his great-grandmother, Nancy Fultz. He always participated in all the church programs. Melvin sang in the Children's Choir directed by Mrs. Cheryl Stafford and advanced to playing the drums, as he always loved music.

Melvin attended Okmulgee Creek Nation Head Start, then continued onto Okmulgee Primary Westside School, and then Dunbar Middle School, where he was attending the seventh grade.

He always kept you laughing. He always helped where he was needed. He had the biggest smile, and he was knowledgeable of a lot of things. Melvin could fix almost anything when it came to technology; it was very easy for him.

Melvin played many sports, including t-ball, soccer, baseball, wrestling, weightlifting, track, and his favorite just happened to be football. His long-term goal was to become a professional football player. He kept up with a lot of the players, watching their plays and moves. He loved to try cooking different foods. Melvin was a very intelligent and knowledgeable young man. He always said he was going to be a millionaire, as he was good at saving money when he worked during the summer cutting yards.

Sir Melvin S. Green, 13, "Took flight with Angels" on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from Okmulgee.

He leaves to mourn his passing: his mother, Maleia Green; his sister, Jayde; his brother, Zyyun; grandmothers, Lynda and Wynette; great- grandmother, Nancy Fultz; uncles, Lonell and Erick; cousins; his friends, Trey and Marcus; his godfather, L.C. Youngblood and family; Coach Kookie and Mrs. Vickie Jones; and Coach Brick and Mrs. Della Jones. Melvin will be greatly missed by quite a few who encountered him. He always aimed for the highest and the best. His great- grandmother always taught him to "Be his best, to do his best, and look his best!" He enjoyed buying tennis shoes, and he had quite the variety in shoes.

"He is being missed everyday."
