Mrs. Mercedes Julieta Hazelton, age 62 and a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday night, November 15, 2010 in Tulsa.

"Reflections"

On May 15, 1948 a baby girl was born to Alberto Williams and Mavis Malone in the Republic of Panama City. Affectionately known as "Sonia," she attended the Institute Justo Arosema (IJA), and graduated from the Instituto National High School. In 1980 she moved to Oklahoma City where she met a young gentleman by the name of Horace Hazelton. "Sonia" later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she acquired a Nurses Assistant Degree and would lead to employment at Hillcrest Medical Center as a Nurse Assistant. In 1983 she married mr. Horace Hazelton, Jr.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Issac and Jarred. Remaining to cherish her precious memories: her loving husband Horace Hazelton, daughter, Arcela Ascencio and son in-law Carlos, her mother, Mavis Hilda, grandchildren: Kalia Yanira, Giancarlos, siblings: Elsa, Lauren, Carmen, Alberto, and Alfredo, mother in-law, Lucille Morris, brother in-laws: Ron Morris, Darryl Morris, first cousins: Chico, Yolanda, Mamita, Fernando, Orje, Ana, Edilma, Martiza, Pamela, Elvia, and Peripicho cousin in-law, Jessie Ann Collins, aunts: May and Ruby, along with a host of other nieces, nephews, and close friends. Sonia was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to be around her family and friends and her memory will be cherished.

Services are set for Tuesday November 23, 2010 at 11AM at Saint Monica Catholic Church in Tulsa. Visitation for her is Monday from 1PM-7PM.
