Michael was born on December 16, 1955 to Oletta Colman from Muskogee and Hayward Sanders, a foundry worker from Haskell, Oklahoma. His siblings include Billy Sanders of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Donna Sanders of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Pamela Sanders, Linda Thompson, and Mae Sanders. Of all the siblings, Michael was the youngest.

Being born at St. John's Hospital at 12:27PM in Tulsa and after the passing of his mother Oletta at the age of 3, Michael spent his adolescent years raised by his grandparents Theodore Roosevelt and Minnie Sanders in Redbird Oklahoma. Graduating from Porter High School, Michael was an avid basketball player.

Michael married Annetta Jackson in 1986 and throughout his career, worked as a manager in the food industry and as a welder. During his free time, he enjoyed fishing and listening to music. He was known to make people laugh.

Michael was called home to be with the Lord on January 23 ^rd , 2022.

He leaves his children, Kia Sanders, Oletha Pillar, Roger Jackson, Jacoyia Taylor and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Memorial Services for Mr. Sanders will be Saturday February 5, 2022 at 2PM inside Biglow's All Faiths Chapel in Tulsa.
