Mr. Michael Sims, in his 49th year, surrendered his soul on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Michael Sims was born to Elgin Sims, on October 7, 1971, at the Muskogee Regional Hospital. Michael grew up with sisters (Janene and Elginia) in Taft Oklahoma, while living with their grandparents George and Sarah Sims. Michael left Taft in his Junior High years and attended Haskell High School. He lived with his Haskell family and second Mom Aunt Jeanetta Mayfield (Lewis). He later attended Moton High School and graduated in 1989 with a host of friends. Those friendships he still holds to this date. Michael or Hype Mike was a proud Sooner and Dolphin fan.
After he graduated, he joined the US Army, where he served in Tank Operations during Gulf War. Earning medals for Army Achievement ,National Defense Service. Army Service/Overseas Service Ribbons . Expert Marksmanship and Sharpshooter. After leaving the military he met and married Nikki and they had a son Michael Jordan Sims. He also raised a son in this union, Brandon (BJ).
Blessed with natural born talent, artistically, barbering was one of many avenues. Michael's love for music lead to writing, performing, and collaborating with others who shared his enthusiasm. Especially his sons.
Following this union, he met his current wife, Karla and lived some time in Tulsa before deciding to move on Fayetteville, AR. Although no children were born to this union, Chance was a son to him.
Preceded in death his Grandparents George and Sarah Sims, James Holdman, and his mom Elgin Teague. He leaves his wife Karla Sims (Arkansas). Sons Brandon (Oklahoma), Michael Jordan (Texas), and Chance (Arkansas). Sisters Janene (Johnny/Florida) and Elginia (Scotty/Oklahoma). Kenjatae Byington (God Daughter). His Aunt Jeanetta (Oklahoma), Aunt Rose (Oklahoma), and Aunt Francis (Wyoming). Uncle Tommy (Gladys/Oklahoma) and a host of cousin, nephews and nieces
