Mr. Michael Woodfork, after 66 years, passed from life to everlasting memory on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Michael Woodfork was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on Febuary 21, 1954, the son of Curtis and Elouise Wooten and was the oldest of six children. He grew up in Pierce, Oklahoma, and attended Checotah High School in Checotah, Oklahoma. He graduated from Checotah High School in 1972 and then enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served his country honorably for four years.
Better known as "Mike", he never met a stranger and always had a story to tell, loved going to church, traveling, fishing, cooking and riding his bike. He also loved shopping at thrift stores.
Mike married Vanessa Woodfork, and one daughter, Malca was born from this union. Later, he married Charlene Woodfork in Seattle, Washington and then moved back to Oklahoma to be closer to family later in life.
He worked for Total Reclaim Recycling and before that, was a King County transport operator. He will be missed by those who loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his daughter, Malca Woodfork, Norman, Oklahoma; a granddaughter, Asha Truitt; five step-children; his siblings, Stanley Woodfork, Checotah, Oklahoma, Joselyn McClellan [Duane], Tulsa, Oklahoma, Curtis Woodfork, Jr., Dallas, Texas, Ray Woodfork, Checotah, Oklahoma and Jeanine Woodfork LeDuff [Merald]; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
You may visit Mr. Woodfork on Monday and Tuesday, at the funeral home in Muskogee from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM. After he is cremated, his ashes will be placed in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, with U. S. Navy military honors on Friday, September 11, 2020, at 1:30 PM.
