On December 5, 1944, Milton Verdene Fleming Bey was born to Evelyn Rhymes Fleming in Detroit, Michigan, who later married George Williamson Bey.
Milton grew up in Detroit, where he attended Eastern High School He worshipped at Morrish Science Temple 25. Later in life, he joined the U. S. Army and was in the 101st Airborn Division.
He passed from this life on Saturday, September 13, 2008 in the Jack C. Montgomery V. A. Regional Medical Center in Muskogee.
He leaves to mourn his death; a wife, Anita Fleming Bey; his mother, Evelyn Williamson Bey; his step-father, George Wililiamson Bey; three sons, Milton Harris, Jr., Taylor Brison and Christoher Harris, all of Detroit, Michigan; four step-children, Thomas Carson [Brenda], Tulsa, Oklahoma, Nakita Walker [Marcus], Tulsa, Oklahoma, Christoher Gist [Denise], Haskell, Oklahoma and Angela Gist, Tulsa, Oklahoma; nine siblings, Debra Fields [ Leonard], Dallas, Texas, Joranne Hemphill, Detroit, Michigan, Gregory Williamson Bey, Ursella Smith of Florida, Darla Terry, Detroit, Michigan, Zivva Williamson Bey,Detroit, Michigan, Ayesha Williamson Bey, Detroit, Michigan, Stephan Williams Bey, Haskell, Oklahoma; Ali Williamson Bey; nine grandchildrne; and a caravan of other relatives and friends.
Service of Memory for Mr. Bey will be on Monday, September 22, 2008 at 12 Noon in the Chapel of Remembrance, of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., in Muskogee. Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the National Cemetery at Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma.
