Minister Miriam
Ann Ragsdale
November 26, 1943 – August 15, 2020
Minister Miriam Ann Murray, after 76 years of life, dozed into the peaceful rest of eternal slumber on Saturday, August 15, 2020 from Muskogee, Oklahoma.
She was born to the late Cleophus Murray and Daisy Mae Alcorn in Wagner, Oklahoma on November 26, 1943. Miriam had 4 siblings, Ruth Mae Newton (deceased), Marterlia Martha Ann Tate of Muskogee, Oklahoma, John David Curry [Asuncion] of Midwest City, Oklahoma and Amour Jean Andrews of Chicago, Illinois.
Miriam was a proud graduate of Historic Manual Training High School in Muskogee with the Class of 1963. She enjoyed attending the Mammoth Reunions and kept in touch with several of her classmates.
Miriam was a member of the Gospel Harmonettes of Muskogee. They performed all over Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas.
Miriam worked for the State of Oklahoma for 42 years. She was a Youth Guidance Specialist (YGS) with the Oklahoma school for the Blind until her retirement in 2004.
Miriam was married to David Lee Ragsdale, Sr., for 38 years and they had 6 children: Belinda Karen Southard of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, David Lee Ragsdale, Jr.(Camisha), of Muskogee, Dana Maria Ragsdale of Louisville, Kentucky, Deborah Rene Travis (Demond), of Springfield, Missouri, Hope DeAnn Ragsdale (Victor), of Muskogee, and Sean Vincent Ragsdale, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Miriam loved clothes, jewelry, and luxury cars. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, singing and playing the piano. She was stylish and classy at all times. She had a passion for women in distress and her ministry was to mentor other queens.
More importantly, she loved the Lord. She truly meditated in His word day and night. in a pursuit to continually grow in her faith. She often attended Prayer retreats at Prayer Mountain in Arkansas. She could turn any conversation into something about the Lord.
Miriam leaves to cherish her memory her 3 siblings, 6 children, 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. All whom loved her dearly and will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, grace and undying love for them.
Her Sacred Farewell will commence on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the most holy sanctuary of Harvest Ministries. Pastor Lester Beasley is the gracious host Pastor.
The Christian Committal will follow in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery.
You may visit Ms. Ragsdale, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the funeral home on Friday, from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
