Obituary

Mrs. Minnie Youngblood Shine, after 63 seasons of life, "finished her course" on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 from Muskogee.

On February 23 1949, Sedalia Bell and Jasper Youngblood celebrated the birth of a baby girl in Moffett, Oklahoma in Sequoya County. She was named Minnie. The family moved to Oklahoma, where they settled in Wybark, Oklahoma.


Minnie was raised in Muskogee attended Muskogee Public Schools, graduating from Historic Manual Training High School. She grew into a kind and loving woman. Minnie enjoyed cooking, gardening, volunteer work, taking care of others and spending time with her family, particularly family reunions.


Minnie was a dedicated employee of Furr's Cafeteria for over 35 years, from the time it opened until it closed. Most recently, she was a cook for Taco Mayo. She was famous for the pies that she so lovingly prepared for her dearest family and friends.


She loved the Lord and was a member of Jehovah Shalom Ministry in Muskogee. Minnie united in Holy Matrimony to Deacon Joedy Shine, who preceded her in death just a short time ago.


On Wednesday, November 21, 2012, Minnie Youngblood Shine, while planning for Thanksgiving on Earth, "received her invitation to spend Christmas in Heaven" from Jesus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Joedy Shine, her parents, a son, James Earl Youngblood, a great-grandson, Devontae and other relatives.


She leaves in God's care: her children, Roy Youngblood, Helen Gardner and Jackie Bryant; her grandchildren; Donte', Cico, Maurisha, Shawna, Cheyene, Dion, El Roy Jr., Monique, Vincent and Damian; her siblings, Jasper Youngblood, Ollie Youngblood, Billy Youngblood, L. C. Youngblood, Paggy Moore, Tina Davis and Kenneth "PeeWee" Lee; her great-grandchildren, Alysibeth, Donte' Jr., Darrionta, Nicholas, Rico Jr., Javion, Ajah and Malachi; as well as her Church Family, other relatives, customers and friends.

The Hour of Celebration will commence on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the Most Holy Sanctuary of Divine Love Christian Fellowship, 500 North "F" Street in Muskogee. Pastor Michael Webber is the gracious host Pastor and Evangelist Liz Richmond, will officiate.

The Christian committal will follow the service in the Marshall Cemetery at Wybark, Oklahoma in Wagoner County.
