Obituary

Mother Elizabeth Hubbard, after "four-score and ten" years, went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Reverend Allen & Maggie Embry believed in the Word of God, "to train up their children in the way that they should go that they would not depart when they got old." In May of 1915, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, a baby girl was marvellous & wonderfully placed in the womb of Maggie Ragsdale-Emry. Reverend Allen & Maggie Ragsdale chose to name her Elizabeth, the 4th daughter of this family, born on February 28 1916. She was the 8th of 10 children.

She attended Jerusalem school and later attended Manual Training High School.

At the age of 28, she married L.C. Greer. After moving to Texas, this union was blessed with 2 boys, L.C. Greer Jr., and Henry Leon Greer. In later years, she met William Hubbard and after praying and believing God for a girl, they were blessed with a daughter and they named her Wilma Hubbard.

After making her home in Houston, Texas for almost 40 years, her journey led her back to Muskogee, Oklahoma, where she reunited with New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. There, she served the Lord faithfully as the Mother of the Church, where she remained for years until her homegoing on Feb.22, 2007. She loved her Pastor, Reverend Ralph Boyattia.

Those who loved Mother Hubbard will live on to cherish her always; One sister, Linnie Shumate of Muskogee,Oklahoma; 3 sons, L.C. and Henry Leon Greer of Houston, Texas and Joseph Newton of Muskogee, Oklahoma; 4 daughters, Wilma Newton and Brenda Vann of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Betty Jean Dandridge and Beatrice Green of Houston, Texas; 12 grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren; Steadnie, Terrell , Tracy, Monica, Marcus, Tosh, Little Joe, William( Lone Ranger), Jaz, E.J., Faith, P.J., Devion, Lil' Tracy, Cochia, Zia (mischievious), Aaron, Marcus' kids, Tosh' big ol' baby, Dr. Ashley, Chris, Destiny, Trenton; along with a host of nieces and nephews, and spiritual sons and daughters, too many to name.

Going before her in this life were her siblings, General, Gus, Willie, Millard, Florence, Fred, Frances and Mary, her parents, one grandson Langston & and one great-grandson, (Kochis).

All whom she leaves to cherish can testify that she loved to hear the Word of God.
