Myra Lavonne Pickett, affectionately known as "Bonnie," was born to Donald and Virginia Wardlow at Williams Air Force Base in Chandler, Arizona on April 2, 1966. After an extended illness, she went home to be with the Lord on January 4, 2016.
During high school, Bonnie earned her license as a Cosmetologist. She passed the state bar and worked in that profession after graduation. She pursued further studies at Apollo College in Phoenix, Arizona and received a certification in Medical Records. She was later employed by the State of South Carolina in the behavioral health arena as an Office Manager. She loved children and enjoyed seeing wayward children turn their lives around.
Bonnie accepted Christ and was baptized during her formative years. She was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Muskogee and attended as often as her health allowed. She loved God and was grateful that He sustained her throughout her illness as a living testimony for His glory.
Bonnie unselfishly devoted her life to helping others. Her family was a cherished priority. She was a devoted mother, who not only nurtured her children and grandchildren, but served as the ultimate role model of perseverance and determination. She consistently placed the needs of others before her own.
Having been a dialysis patient for over twelve years, there were many times when her energy waned and she was not well. y et, she kept a positive attitude, her beautiful smile and her unwavering desire to be there for her family. Bonnie's caring and compassionate nature had an impact on everyone who knew her. She loved life and cherished relationships. Her strength, tenacity and unyielding faith in God helped her through many years of sickness and pain. The family will deeply miss her gentle and loving spirit.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her daughter, Krystal Fee, who was the sunshine of her life, her step-father, Albert Potter, her grandparents, Ernest and Beulah Wardlow, Virginia Leftridge and Clifford and Frances Prater.
She leaves to celebrate and cherish her life; her devoted and loving husband, Roger Pickett, Muskogee; her twin sons, Marques [Mayra] Fee, Tacoma, Washington and Marcel [Sharon] Fee and their father, Horace Fee, Rock Hill, South Carolina; her step-daughter, Na'ridger Pickett, Muskogee; her father and mother, Donald and Mary Wardlow, Muskogee, who raised, loved and cared for her until the end; her biological mother, Virginia Potter, Albuquerque, New Mexico; her sister, Mary [Shawntrey] Moore, Muskogee; her brother, Anthony [Dawn] Wardlow, Tahlequah; her half-brother and sister, Jackie [Demetrius] Ferguson, Austin, Texas and Christopher [Adrinna] Potter, Las Vegas, New Mexico; her grandfather, Walter Leftridge, Albuquerque, New Mexico; six grandchildren, Angelo and Krystal Fee, Tacoma Washington, Damien, Marcel Jr., and Brodrick Fee, Rock Hill, South Carolina and Kyran Anderson, Muskogee; along with a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends.
The Hour of Remembrance will be shared on Saturday morning, January 9, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in the New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Reverend Roscoe Beasley, Pastor, will preside and Pastor Perline Boyattia will give the Eulogy. Viewing on Saturday will begin at 10:00 AM until service time only. The Casket will not be opened at the end of the service.
Burial will follow in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee.
