It all began in Clearview, Oklahoma, when Alfred and Ruby Lee [Bush]
Loggins celebrated the birth of their beautiful, baby girl on April 9,
1934. They named her Myrtle Marie and she was the second of four
children in this family.
Myrtle spent her formative years in Clearview. She attended school
there, and while still at an impressionable age, she received Christ
into her life. After completing high school, she met a gentleman,
Quincy Alvin Prince. They fell in love and were married. Their love
was blessed with nine children.
Mrs. Prince lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma for many years, where she nurtured
and cared for her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and
loyal friend to all who knew her. She was a true servant to God and
committed to helping man-kind. Her devotion to the Lord was evident
through the many accolades and certificates she earned throughout her
lifetime; over 50 letters, commendations and certificates for
participation, service and training alike. She was a faithful member
of the Timothy Baptist Church while she lived in Tulsa and after moving
to Oklahoma City to be near her children, she united with the Wildewood
Baptist Church.
Sister Myrtle furthered her education, attending Bacone Junior College
in Muskogee and Claremore Junior College, earning an Associates Degree
in Arts and Early Childhood Education.
She was faithful in her service to God and her Church, which included
the Women's Missionary Union, as well as various other capacities, too
numerous to name. She enjoyed working with children, to the extent
that she became a Foster-Grandparent, serving the community over 5
years. This commendable act by Mrs. Prince was recognized in one of
her certificates. She served 4,553 hours from 2005 until 2011. If she
was paid for this volunteering, it would be the equivalent of $
62,962.91 - truly a testament to her dedication and love through
Stewardship.
Mrs. Prince worked to provide for her family throughout her life at the
Louisiana Restaurant, at St. Lukes, Headstart, Roosevelt Junior High School and the
Morton Health Center in the Optometry department.
It was early on Friday, May 17, 2013, certainly during her private time
with the Lord, when after 79 years, HE whispered "Peace be thine" and
welcomed her into Glory. Mrs. Prince was preceded in death by her
husband, Quincy Alvin Prince, one of her children, Meredist K. Prince,
along with other relatives who went on before her.
Those that wait and are now comforted by the Holy Spirit; her
daughter, Jada L. Davis; Edmond, Oklahoma; her sons, Quincy D. Prince,
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Armon R. Prince, Leander M. Prince, and Mitchell L. Prince all of
Tulsa, Oklahoma, Michael D. Prince, Sulphur, Oklahoma and John B. Prince and Nicholas I. Prince, both of
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her brother, Wallace B. Loggins, Norman,
Oklahoma; her sisters, Dr. Opal Inez Ware-Johnson, Atlanta, Georgia and
Dorothy Mae Shambra, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; twenty-six
grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a caravan of other
relatives, loving friends and her Church Family from Tulsa and Oklahoma
City, who will cherish her beautiful memory.
The Final Hour with Mrs. Prince will be shared on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 10:30 AM in the Wildewood Baptist Church, 60 N.E. 63rd Street in Oklahoma City. Her Pastor, Reverend Earl W. Bryant, will Preside. Burial will follow in the Northfork Cemetery at Clearview, Oklahoma.
You may visit Mrs. Prince, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the Rolfe Funeral Home in Oklahoma City on Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
