Obituary

Mr. Nathaniel Thompson, Jr., in his 76th year, made his transition to Eternity from Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Nathaniel Thompson, Jr., was the 7th child born to Rosie Wallace and Nathaniel Thompson, Sr. on August 17, 1929 in Beggs, Oklahoma.

At an early age, he was baptized at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church. He attended Wheatley School in Beggs until he had to quit and help his father with the farm. He went on to be a cook at a restaurant and later became a construction laborer. He worked at several different jobs during his life. On March 27, 1981, he married Wallina Tate. He attended First Baptist Church South until his health failed. He was a faithful member and wherever he went, he never met a stranger.

Nathaniel leaves to cherish his memory; his sister, Alva Loyce [Jake] Williamson, Beggs, Oklahoma; his children, Pearlie Bennett, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Nathan [Jessie] Mills, Tulsa, Oklahoma, LaKeta Thompson, Beggs, Oklahoma, Alfreda Porter, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Alvin Dixon, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Lamisha [Melvin] Gaines, Beggs, Oklahoma, Lanita [Martin] Lang, Boynton, Oklahoma, Paul Hayden, Okmulgee, Oklahoma; 9 step-children, Faye [Billy] Demer;y, Corporal Tate, Jr., Linda Thomas, Marcella Cottrell, Elsie Fields, Norman [Delores] Tate, Rodney [Pam] Tate, Roy [Jackie] Tate, David [Kim] Tate; 17 grandchildren; 22 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren; a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a special great-grandson, Darien, who he was very close to.

The final hour for Mr. Thompson will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the First Baptist Church-South. Dr. Maurice Williams, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Beggs City Cemetery. You may visit Mr. Thompson, as he slumbers at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., on Friday from 10 AM until 6 PM in Okmulgee.
