Obituary

Mrs. Nita Patricia Pierce, in her 46th season of life, surrendered to the will of God on Tuesday evening, July 17, 2012 from Muskogee.

Nita was born February 6, 1966 in Oklahoma City Oklahoma to Mark White and Lucia McClain. She was the youngest of 5 siblings and attended Guthrie High School, where she was active in basketball, track and the band.

Nita met her husband, Nathan in Guthrie, Oklahoma in 1985, They later moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma, where they became one on September 19, 1986. From this union two children were born, Holly Renee' Pierce and Nathan J. Pierce Jr.

Nita and her family were faithful members of the Church of Christ located on 18th & Denison, where she worked as a Sunday school teacher/vacation bible school teacher.

Nita began a new life in Muskogee, as she attended Connors State College, studying Applied Arts. She began her employment in Muskogee with Sears and later was employed by Georgia Pacific for 12 years. Later, she became employed by the City of Muskogee as an animal warden and a reserved police officer. Loving the outdoors, she was very active in fishing, hunting and horseback riding. Nita loved children opening up her heart and home to many. Combining her love of children and sports, Nita coached in the youth basketball league through the parks and recreations department of Muskogee and was Vice President of the Paul Young Football league. A very active woman, she worked side by side with her husband in the building of their home.

Nita achieved accomplishments in being CLEET certified, welding, Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, coaching, certified basketball referee and received recognition as a player and participant of the Harlem Ambassadors basketball team, with many other achievements.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory; her husband of 25 years Nathan J. Pierce Sr.; her daughter Holly Renee' Pierce, her son Nathan J. Pierce Jr., all of Muskogee; her father Mark White, Oklahoma City Oklahoma, her mother, Lucia McClain, Guthrie Oklahoma; her brother, William McClain, Guthrie Oklahoma; her sister, Marianne McClain, Columbus Georgia, her brother Marcio & Rosalba White, Guthrie Oklahoma, her brother Shawn & Tracy White, Oklahoma City Oklahoma, her brother Karry White, Oklahoma City Oklahoma, with a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives. Nita is proceeded in death by her grandparents.

The Hour of Remembrance will commence on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chandler Road Church of Christ, 3507 Chandler Road. Brother Donnie Branscum is the gracious host Pastor and Brother Eric Rodgers, Pastor of 18th & Denison Church of Christ, Officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
