The verse found in Psalm 34:1, I will bless the Lord at all times His praise shall continually be in my mouth, was not just a simple verse.
It was the way she lived her life from day to day. May her legacy of praise be inherited by those she leaves behind to cherish her memory.
Nola Faye Bagby was born on May 24, 1941, in Hugo, Oklahoma, to Dave Charles and Tommie Lee Van Zandt Robinson. She attended Tulsa Public Schools graduating from Booker T. Washington High School with the Grand Class of 1959.
Nola Faye Bagby, affectionately known to some as "Faye", and others as "Mother Bagby", was a woman of compassion. Her infectious smile was encouraging, inviting, and hope giving. Her nurturing nature illuminated a love which would allow her to challenge and correct you, and leave you walking away still feeling loved.
Faye's spiritual journey began at an early age. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized. As she continued to grow in faith there were several ministries that began to shape her path; First Church of God and Christ, City of Refuge, and Beautiful Gates. Mother Bagby continued and completed her spiritual tutorage at Praise Christ Faith Center, under the leadership of Pastor's Stanley and Lydia Coleman. Mother Bagby held fast to her faith in God which was demonstrated in her life and praise.
Nola Faye was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she met and married Raymond Bagby. They had seven children; Patrick, Timothy, Felicia, Candice, Bradley, Katina Faye, and Heather Bagby.
Faye was employed by Salvation Army for many years, where she was an Assistant Director and Mentor. She was loved by all who met her. She retired in 1993……
On Monday, February 22, 2010, the Master called His faithful servant home, she had fulfilled her purpose.
Nola Faye Bagby was preceded in death by her parents Dave Charles and Tommie Lee Robinson and her brothers Christopher Robinson and Ralph Bagby.
Nola Faye leaves to cherish her memory, her dedicated husband, Raymond Bagby, seven devoted children, Patrick Bagby, Timothy Bagby, Tulsa, OK; Felicia (Charles) Asanya, Orlando, FL; Candice Bagby, Kansas City, MO; Bradley Bagby, Katina Faye Bagby, and Heather Bagby, Tulsa, OK; one sister Fernell Smith, Dallas, TX., and one brother, Charles Robinson, Tulsa, OK; grandchildren: Michael, Thomas, Kevin, Ryan, Marvin Jr., Brittney, Jasmine, Brandon, Tyler, Whitney, Sydney, Kia, Corey, Marlo, Marshell, Tim Jr., Autumn, Brandon, Jadyn, Christen, four great-grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and loving friends.
The Celebratory Hour of Tribute will commence on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. in the Praise Christian Faith Center. Elder Stanley Coleman, Pastor, will Preside.
The Most Sacred Sanctuary is located at 4748 South 31st West Avenue in Tulsa.
The Christian Committal will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
