Obituary

On September 2, 1939, a baby girl was born to Bennie Powell and Nola Wright Powell in Monroe, Louisiana. They named her Nola, after her mother. She accepted Christ into her life at the tender age of 7. She was baptized July 3, 1946 by Reverend Felix Thomas. She met John Smitha and a baby girl was born from this union. in 1959, she later met and married Charles Wilson and during this union, no children were born. In 1970, she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma with her family. in 1976, she united with K. C. Gix and a son was born.

Nola was a strong black woman, who never turned her back on anyone. She was remarkable and was loved by many. Her home was a refuge to anyone seeking shelter from this cold world.

On February 23, 2006, at 4:30 in the afternoon, Nola Wilson, in her 66th year, left this life for a life eternal. She was preceded in death by her father,, her mother, 3 sisters;a brother; 2 sons and a brother-in-law.

Remaining to embrace her precious memory; 2 brothers, Bennie [Marjie] Powell and Henry [Laura] Powell; a sister, Betty Jean Powell-Patrick; 4 daughters and 3 sons, Doris Faye Powell [Michael Samuels], Michael Henry Wilson, Precious Ann Mack, Bettye Mack, and Patrick Wilson, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma, calvin Mack [Jackie Gray-Mack], Cassandra Mack-Townsell [Terry Townsell], Muskogee, Oklahoma; 27 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; along with other dear friends and family members.

The Tribute on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the All Faiths Chapel at Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc. Burial followed in Crown Hill Cemetery in Tulsa.
