Obituary

Mr. Ocie Lee Releford, after 74 years, left earth for a life eternal from St. Edwards Medical Center in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

Better known to his friends as "Bird Legs", Mr. Releford was born in Redland, Oklahoma on March 16, 1934, the son of Ocie and Emma Lee [Wallace] Releford.

He graduated From Douglas High School in Vian, Oklahoma with the class of 1953 and met a beautiful young woman, Norma Ruth Shepard. They fell in love and were married on May 30, 1953. Their love produced six children, two who preceded him in death, along with his beloved wife.

Mr. Releford was the owner and operator of Releford Tire Service, which existed since 1969. His motto, "Don't cuss, call us" offered services for 18 wheeler, tractors, trailers, buses and cars alike.

He often joked that he attended college for 16 years, but never earned a degree, reflecting on the college education of his daughters.

He was an excellent husband, father and friend and cherished his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.

The farewell tribute will be on Monday, June 2, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Roland, Oklahoma. The Pastor, Reverend Daniel Clayton will officiate. The Christian Committal will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery.

You may visit Mr. Releford on Sunday from 3 PM until 5 PM at the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Roland. Also, on Monday morning beginning at 11 AM until 1:30 PM.
