On January 17, 1953, in Chesterfield, Virginia, our Father in Heaven blessed Carrie Catherine Booker and the late Waverly Thomas Booker, Sr., with a healthy, baby boy. On this day, they named him Otis Randolph Booker.

Otis graduated from Petersburg High School in 1971. During this time, there was a courtship of Betsy Marie Parham. The two fell in love and were married on October 21, 1972. Our Father in Heaven blessed this Holy union with two children; Otis Randolph Booker, Jr., and Tia M. Booker.

Otis Sr., proudly served his country in the United States Army for 7 years before his honorable discharge. He furthered his education, attending Bacone College on a basketball scholarship. He graduated with an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts.

Mr. Booker was a pillar in the Muskogee Community, from his service as a fire fighter as well as his service for 33 years as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service.

However, his dedication did not stop there. Otis Sr., enjoyed being involved in the lives of the youth, through Hatbox Youth baseball association, serving as an umpire, as well as a youth basketball referee, junior high school, collegiate and even wheelchair officiating.

His hobbies were playing basketball, chess, dominoes, vacationing, watching movies with family, boxing [3 tournament titles in '83, '84 and '88] and obtaining his 1st degree black belt in karate. He loved to compete and enjoyed the pureness and sportsmanship of competition and was a teacher to those willing to learn.

Otis Randolph Booker, Sr., loved Jesus Christ and devoted his life to serving the Lord and giving testimony to how the Lord, Our Savior, saved his soul.

On June 5, 2011, early Sunday morning, Our Father in Heaven invited Otis to "Sunday School" in Paradise and brought his son home.

He leaves in God's care to carry on his legacy; his wife, Betsy Marie Booker; his children, Otis R. Booker, Jr., and Tia M. Booker; his mother, Carrie Catherine Booker; his four brothers and two sisters, Bernard Mosby, Waverly Thomas Booker, Jr., Walter Booker, Darrell Booker, Vanessa Dabney and Dorien Booker [Russell]; along with his church family, other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of flower arrangements, the family has requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
