IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Otto Green,
Jr.
February 23, 1947 – September 19, 2022
Otto Green, Jr., was born on February 23, 1947, to the late Otto Green, Sr., and Annie Mae Shoates Green in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Otto was the oldest of eleven children. Otto was a 1965 graduate of Manual Training High School, and shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army. Otto served in the Army from 1966 to 1972 with the 101st Airborne Division, Air Assault (the "Screaming Eagles"). During his service to our country, Otto received several commendations: Purple Heart Medal, Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Army Combat Infantryman Medal.
Upon completion of his military service, Otto worked at the Santa Fe Meat Packing Company and worked with his uncles doing carpentry work, building numerous churches and homes in Muskogee area. It was also around this time that Otto met the late Shirley Williams and had his only child, Otto Green III. He was later employed by Yaffe Iron Works for 26 years, until he retired in 2012. Otto was an OU super fan, he loved to cook, read western books, and he was an avid card player.
God called Otto home on Monday night, September 19, 2022, Otto fought a good fight and finished his race. Those waiting to greet him are his parents, Otto and Annie Mae Green; sisters, Ruthie Mae Green, Lilly Mae Green, Joanne Green, Jacqueline Green, Louise Green Carson, Loretta Green Blue, and Lorlie Green; and brothers, Lonnie Green and Donald H. Green.
Those remaining to uphold a lifetime of cherished memories are: his son, Otto Green III (Allison) of Navarre FL; his
grandchildren, Omari Green of Painesville, OH, and Mackenzie Green of Navarre, FL; his brother, Larry J. Green (Demita) of Muskogee, OK; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The Final Salute for Mr. Green will commence on Friday, September 30, 2022 at the Tenth Hour in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, in Fort Gibson.
You may visit him, as he slumbers in peaceful repose in The People's Chapel of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., in Muskogee on Thursday, September 29, 2022 between the hours of 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
Military Honors will be rendered following the conclusion of the Graveside Ceremony.
