Obituary

"…Reflections…."
In Sand Springs, Oklahoma, a bundle of joy was delivered to Pluit and Lenell Turner. They named their third child born to the union, Pamela Louise. Pamela received her education from the Sand Springs Public School System. In 1973, Pam made history as the first African American crowned as Charles Page High School Basketball Queen.

She moved on to attend Tulsa Business School. In 1975, she began her collegiate career at the University of Oklahoma where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Business Education. She continued her educational journey at Oklahoma State University at Tulsa, and earned a Master's degree in Human Relations.

In her continuous journey to grow closer to God, Pam joined the First Baptist Church of Sand Springs where she served until 1979. In June of 1989, she married Walter Block. She then moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma and joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she praised our Heavenly Father with an undying faith until He called her home.

Pamela handled adversity with strength, poise, dignity, and even humor. She was an organized person and always wanted her family to be on "the same page," a term she used quite frequent.

Those that preceded Pam in death were her parents, and a brother, John Turner.
