Obituary

Ms. Patricia Houston, after 62 seasons, dozed into "Paradise" on Saturday, August 8, 2009 from Muskogee.

Patricia Ann Alford was born to Dorothy James and John Alford, Sr., on December 26, 1946 in Bristow, Oklahoma.

She met with Augusta Houston and they were married. Later in life, she met Raymond Euguen Porter, Sr., and they have remained together nearly 40 years, married for 12 years.

Better known as "Pat", she worked as a desk clerk for Motel 6. During her lifetime, she was the mother to five children and was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, a son and a grandchild.


Remaining to wait on the Lord; her husband, Raymond Porter, of the home; her children, Pauline [Willie], Stacy, Melinda, and Ethel, and a step-son, Raymond Porter, Jr.; two sisters, Laura [Mikel] Brown, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Almetris [James] Tottress, Bristow, Oklahoma; two brothers, John and Darrell [Lora] Alford, Bristow, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


The final hour will be on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 12 Noon in the Chapel of Remembrance of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., in Muskogee. Reverend Walter Brown, Jr., will officiate. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery at Fort Gibson at 2:00 P.M.
