Obituary

On August 18, 1931 Isaac and Odell Jones welcomed two beautiful baby girls named Pattie Faye and Mattie Maye.

Pattie Faye & Mattie May grew up in the historical town of Taft, Oklahoma where they attended Moton Public Schools. While there Pattie Faye met her high school sweetheart, Lafayette Hamm and they went on to form a union on June 20, 1957 for 45 loving years.

Pattie Faye was affectionately known as "Pat" to those who loved her. She enjoyed styling hair for family and friends. There is no one who could make those Marcels talk like Pattie Faye. She also loved fishing and cooking, especially her famous peach cobbler.

While Lafayette provided for his family, Pat was a homemaker who took great pride in her role. As the years passed five daughters were brought into this union.

Pat gave her life to Christ at a young age and never departed from her belief in God. She joined the First Baptist Church of Taft OK, under the leadership of Rev. Woodrow McBride. As a member there she served as the choir director, took a leadership role in the kitchen department where she organized the dining events. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Pat was active in her memberships until health issues with Lafayette caused her to step down and dedicate all her time caring for him.

On Sunday September 30, 2018, Pattie Faye made her exit from this earth to join those who have gone on before her: Lafayette (Husband), Thurman Eugene aka *Gene Baby* (Son), Shawn (daughter), Odell (Mother), Mattie (Twin Sister).

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters Angela Gaulden (Robert)-Tulsa, OK; Sharon Fennell (Alan)-Frisco, TX; LaQuisha Corbin & Shaundre Hamm-Muskogee, OK. Brother in law Billy Ray Phillips. Grandchildren: Brittany, Nia, Taelyn, Ricco, Shaebriel, Alexis, McKaylan, Kynnedy, Brandon, Shawndella, Shanell, Lavonte. Great-Grandchildren: Xavier, Natalie, Kinsley, Kace, Sariah, Joshua Jr. Along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Her sacred farewell will commence on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the most holy sanctuary of the New Life Ministries in Taft, Oklahoma.  Pastor Michael Gaulden will officiate.

You may visit her on Friday, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the Church from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
