Obituary

On January 4, 1954, a son was born to Betty Lewis and Willie Hayden in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was named paul Len, but became known to family and friends as "Bo" or "Rubber Gut" and some even called him "Huney."



Bo's family moved to Beggs, Oklahoma in 1960 from Okmulgee. It was there he became a member of Handy's Chapel AME Church . During his school years, he attended Wheatley School in Beggs. Bo dropped out of school, but was determined that he would earn his G.E.D. At the age of 43, he received his certificate of High School Equivalency. He was very proud of this accomplishment.



On Janury 3, 2014, "Bo" closed his eyes on Earth for the last time. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wilden Hayden.



He leaves to cherish his memory; his sisters, LaMisha Gaines [Melvin], Beggs, Oklahoma, LaKeta Thompson, Okmulgee, and LaNita Lang [Martin], Boynton, Oklahoma, Pauline, Oklahoma City, and Caroline Hayden, Missouri; his brothers, Larry, Tony and Jerry Hayden, all of Missouri; Also, his adopted brothers, Wendall Ross and Barney Checotah, Jr.; his very, special friend, Sharon Whitecloud; six nephews; four nieces whom he loved dearly; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Service of Memory will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Peace. Reverend Martin Lang will officiate. Burial will follow in the Newtown Indian Cemetery in Okmulgee.

You may visit Mr. Hayden as he slumbers is peaceful repose on Friday from 10 AM until 6 PM at the funeral home in Okmulgee.
