Obituary

Miss Paula Faye Reed, after 43 seasons, dozed into Eternity from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The farewell celebration will be on Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. in the Greater Rayfield Baptist Church, 701 Indianapolis Avenue. Reverend Leroy Walker, Sr., the Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee.

You may visit Paula on Friday from 12 Noon until 7 PM at the funeral home in Muskogee.

The book of life opened for Paula Faye Reed on January 30, 1963, as one of God's precious gifts to Porter and Gaynell Reed. She began her education in the Muskogee Public School System. She later transferred to Tullahassee, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Carter G. Woodson High School Class of 1981.

Paula accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Rayfield Baptist CHurch under the pastoraage of Reverend T. L. Turner. She began her employment at Archers Cleaners before relocating to Tulsa, Oklahoma. She joined the staff of the Saint Francis Rehab Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where she remained until her health began to fail.

She was blessed in her life with the companionship of five loving siblings and a daughter, Ashley Dawn Reed. Paula was one who truly enjoyed life and loved family. Her love for living, coupled with her winning personality led to many life-time, faithful friends. She bore her ilness patiently for over three and one-half years, surrounded and supported by devoted family and friends, who willingly cared for her from the beginning to the end. There will always be a special place in her heart for all who assisted, especially her long-time friends, Mark McClain and the McClain family.

The book of life closed for Paula on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Quinton and Lavare. Her life will be fondly remembered by her parents, Porter and Gaynell Reed; her daughter, Ashley, all of the home; two sisters, Pam Reed, Chicago, Illinois and Portia Reed, Muskogee, Oklahoma; two brothers, Leonard [Vickie]Reed, Kansas City, Missouri and Lorenzo Reed, Muskogee, Oklahoma; two nieces, Nikia Reed, Kansas City, Missouri and Rachelle Duncan, Muskogee; four nephews, Derrick Reed [Eunice], Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Leonard Reed, Jr., Kansas City, Missouri, Demetri Reed, Detroit, Michigan and Amani Reed, Portland, Oregon; a special sister-in-law, Mary Ann Reed, Muskogee, Oklahoma; a special friend, Mark McClain and the McClain family of Muskogee; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
