IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paulena J.
Houston
August 26, 1962 – March 31, 2021
Ms. Paulene J. Houston, 58, a resident of Muskogee, left us on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from St. Francis Hospital in Muskogee.
On August 26, 1962 a baby was born to Augustus Houston, Sr., and Patricia Ann Alford. They named her Paulena Jean Houston. She was best known to family and friends as "Linky". She was the oldest of five children. Born and raised in Muskogee, OK, she attended Dubois in Summit during her elementary days and later attended Tullahasse, Oklahoma for High School. During her early life, she met WIllie Whitfiled and together they had a baby girl they named Angie. Together in a union, they raised four daughters: Angie, Questa, Patricia, and Sasha. She loved to cook and never turned anyone away if you were hungry. She had a soft spot for all kids. The neighborhood kids called her "Granny" also. To anybody, if you know her, when you went to the window she was always there asking what you wanted. To proceed her in death is mother, father, husband, and brothers. She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Angie, Questa, Patricia (Jesse), Sasha; step-daughter Sparkle; aunts, Laura Brown and Almetrius Tottress; uncles, John and Darrel Alford; siblings, Stacy, Melinda, Ethel, Cornelius Houston, and Judy Peal; favorite cousins, Tyrra Shaver and Mark Poule; 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
