On December 19, 1937, in Morris, Oklahoma a precious bundle of joy was delivered to Henry Alfred Davis and Willie Mae Robinsons. They named their bundle of joy Pauline. Pauline later left Okmulgee, Oklahoma at an early adult age to Los Angeles, California. There in California she raised her eight children, eventually returning to Oklahoma to care for her mother Willie Mae Davis in 1982.
She worked at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital, Days Inn, DHS provider, and Home Health. Ms. Davis later became a Foster Parent under Shadow Mountain taking care of therapeutic, adolescent children for approximately 15 years. Mama found love and enjoyment fostering and caring for many children. Working in the yard from sunrise to sunset, planting flowers, trimming hedges. Anything pertaining to outdoor maintenance. It was important to her that all her children had plenty of food whether it was good or not.
Her parents, children Johnnie Dale Davis, and brothers Bubba Davis, Gilbert Davis, and Odell Davis, and preceded her in death. Remaining to cherish her precious memories, three sons: Jack Martin Murray (Rita), Okmulgee, OK, Marion Bryant, Jr., Salt Lake, UT, Henry LeMont Bryant, Okmulgee, OK, four daughters: Jacqueline Doris Murphy, Oakland, CA, Darlene Shore, Okmulgee, OK, Marian C. Sherard, Richmond, VA, and Marlene Marie Wilson (Kenneth Ray), Okmulgee, OK, one brother Jimmy Dale Davis (Evelyn), Okmulgee, OK, sisters: Dorothy Fisher, Okmulgee, OK, Josie Mae Ferguson (Eddie), Ypsilanti, MI, and Delores Wright, Oakland, CA, 29 Grand Children, 15 Great Grand Children, along host of nieces, nephews, family & friends.
A Public Memorial Service for Ms. Davis will be Friday December 27, 2013 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church-New Morris Road.
