Obituary

The Final Hour for Mrs. Morrison will be Friday at 11AM in the All Faiths Chapel of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., in Tulsa. Visitation will be Thursday from 10AM to 7PM.

It all began on March 27, 1926 in Stone Bluff, Oklahoma, when a beautiful baby girl was born to Emery and Janie Metcalf, an dthey named her Pearlie Mae.

She grew up and blossomed into a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. With the acceptance of Christ as her personal Savior, Pearlie united with Vernon AME Church at an early age and was an active member until her health failed. She later placed her membership with Covenant Family Church. During her journey, through this life, Pearlie inspired and encouraged family and friends with an introduction to Christ. As a diligent and faithful worker, Pearl reaped the benefits of being able to retire from the dietary department at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa.

Pearlie, the daughter, sister and friend, expressed loving care, kindness and nurturing to all that entered the warmth of her home and presence.

Momma Pearl's gift of hospitality - feed every stray child needing a meal or a place to sleep. Aunt Pearlie's smile made you feel like the most special person in the room. Pearlie Mae lived her life devoted to her family.

She left her earthly vessel on October 26, 2008, where she was greeting at Heaven's Gate by her parents, Emery and Janie Metcalf, her grandmother, Pinkie Charles, husband, Bobby, five brothers, five sisters, an aunt and uncle, and four grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish the legacy she created; an aunt, Pauline Williams, three sisters, Hazel Bernice and Gloria, and brother-in-law, Nelson; nine children, Billie [JB] Patterson, Leroy [Elaine] Woodrow, Shirley [Sam] Smith, John [Mary] Meachem, Linda Billups, Robert [Beverly] Meachem, Vickie Meachem, Cortez Scott, Hattie [Terry] Johnson and one special son, Virgil [Shyrlon] Wilson; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a caravan of other relatives and freinds.
