Reflections
On September 2nd, 1925, in Fame, Oklahoma, a beautiful baby girl was born to Sam and Pearl Hooks. They named their bundle of joy Pearlie Mae. Pearlie and her family later moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma. There she accepted Christ at an early age and united with Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Thomas McFrazier, where she remained a member for many years.

After moving to Muskogee, Pearlie received her formal education at Langston Elementary, culminating with her graduation from the Historic Manual Training School. She would later attend Connors State College where she received her certification in Early Childhood Development. From there, she opened and ran her own day care center for 40 years. Within that time period, Pearlie met and married Eli "Doc" Patterson. To this union, a son was born. They named him Herman Joe. After this marriage ended, she met and married Simeon Patillar. To this union, a baby girl was born: Deloyce Jean.

On September 16, 2009, Pearlie Mae Patillar made her final transition to be with the Lord. Awaiting at the gates of Heaven to welcome her home are her parents, brother, sister, her son, and husband Simeon. Remaining to celebrate her homegoing: her loving daughter Deloyce Jean Washington, Broken Arrow, OK; step-son Garland Patillar, Muskogee, OK., sister Hersley Royal, Muskogee, OK., grandsons: Ulysses Washington (Nasareta), Tulsa, OK., Marvin Washington, Broken Arrow, OK., Herman Patterson, Broken Arrow, OK. granddaughters: Delera Washington-Evans (Kevin), Broken Arrow, OK., Cynthia Patterson, Muskogee, OK., Tina Patterson, Coweta, OK., Lauren Washington, Tulsa, OK., Sharee Washington, Omaha, NE., special nieces: Cynthia Underwood, Tulsa, OK., and Carol Clinton, Oklahoma City, OK., and host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
