Ms. Peggy Green, after 56 years, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 in Mount Pleasant, Texas.

Mrs. Green was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Freddie and Jewel [Colbert] Peterson. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School with the Class of 1973 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she was a cheerleader. She then attended Claremore Junior College, where she was in the Nursing Program.

She was a member of teh Morning Star Baptist Church of Tulsa and a debutant queen for the Black Society in Tulsa.

She leaves to cherish beautiful memories; her husband of 34 years, Jessie R. Green, Mt. Pleasant, Texas; a daughter, Shamocka L. Green, Mt. Pleasant, Texas; a son, Jessie R. Green, Jr. V, Mt. Pleasant, Texas; a granddaughter, Breanna Green, Mt. Pleasant, Texas; four sisters, Gertrude Peterson, Treva Agaial, Trevis Peterson and Helen Antwine, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four brothers, Freddie Eugene Peterson, Carl Peterson, Frederick Peterson, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Bruce Peterson, Sherman, Texas; along with a caravan of other relatives and friends.

Service of Memory for Mrs. Green will be on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Peace at the funeral home in Okmulgee. Burial will follow in the Beggs Cemetery.
