Celebration of Life
Phyllis M. Guillory Fellows was born on November 2, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma the second of four children to John "Jack" and Bobbie (Shoates) Guillory. She united with Paradise Baptist Church at an early age. Phyllis graduated from the historic Booker T. Washington High School with the great class of 1966. She enjoyed participating in dance, High-Jenks, singing with the Tornado's and cheerleading. While at Booker T. Washington, Phyllis was bestowed the prestigious honor of being crowned Miss Hornet. After graduation she attended Oklahoma State University.
On August 31, 1968 she married Lawrence Fellows, the love of her life. Lawrence and Phyllis remained faithful through 52 years of marriage. The union produced three children: Tanya, Dawn, and Brandi. Phyllis was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and dearly loved her family.
She always made sure her home was filled with love and laughter. Phyllis adored her friends and had an uncanny way of making everyone feel special. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as entertaining at her home and delighting in interior design. Phyllis was also an active member of several social organizations including her bridge club and The Angels travel club just to name a few.
Phyllis would light up the room with her smile. Her magnetic personality was the heartbeat of an extremely accomplished career at American Airlines where she worked for over 35 years. She shined brightly as the first black customer service manager for American Airlines at Tulsa International Airport. Phyllis was honored with the Excellence in Leadership Award for American Airlines' Central Region.
Phyllis was a spiritual woman. Her faith was steadfast. She rejoiced in hearing God's word from her spiritual leader, Rev. G. Calvin McCutchen.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her loving parents, John "Jack" and Bobbie Guillory; sister, Jacqueline Guillory Bowlin; and brother, John Guillory III.
Remaining to cherish the wonderful memories of her life: husband, Lawrence Fellows; daughters, Tanya Fellows Baldwin, Dawn Fellows, and Brandi Willis; grandchildren, Jasmine Baldwin and Lawrence "L.J." Willis; sister, Patricia (James) Wooley; god-daughter, Jemia Midget; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services for Mrs. Fellows will be Wednesday October 21, 2020 at 11AM at Greater Union Baptist Church in Tulsa.

Phyllis will be Laid to Rest at Crown Hill Cemetery in Tulsa.
You will be able to come by on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 between 1PM until 5PM in The Tulsa Chapel to sign her Register Book.
