My Legacy
October 25, 1946 ~ September 20, 2019
When a child is born a race begins. It is from the cradle to the grave. Each must run their course be it long or short. So it was with Dr. Phyllis Kay Hampton.
Phyllis (PK) was born to Hilery and Mary Edna Henry on October 25, 1946 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She attended Okmulgee Public Schools and graduated from Dunbar High School, Langston University, and the University of San Francisco. She did obtain the following degrees: Bachelor's of Science, Master's Degree, PHD, and MBA in Mathematics.
Kaye accepted Jesus in early life and was a member of Shorter Chapel AME under the leadership of the late Leroy Peterson. Kaye was a true matriarch to many children through teaching and starting life's journey. We say goodbye to our beloved mother, sister, aunt, & grandmother. We love you, but God loved you more. No more aches, pains, no sadness, and no tears. You've earned your wings so fly high. We will remember al lessons, morals, and values you taught us.
Kaye leaves to cherish her precious memory: her son Phillip Louis Henry, his children; Deshonna, Phyllis, Jeremy, Phillip, Mikah, and Jayden Henry, brother Robert Henry (Kathryn), nieces: Brenda Waller, Marva Hood, Lisa Phillips, Erica Lloyd, Cicely Wilson, Stephanie Henry, Tiffany and Tracy Henry, Robbie, Felicia, and Kaelyn Henry, nephews: Lamar Kelso, Rodney Phillips, and a host of great nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Kaye was preceded in death by her parents: Mary Edna and Hilery Henry, Sr., brother Hillary Henry, Jr. and sister Dorothy Gilkey (Sissy).
