On March 21, 1962, Marianne Bolden and Andrew Phillips celebrated the birth of a precious baby son. They named him Prentice Lavell but he was lovingly called "Odie".
Odie attended Nelson Chapel Presbyterian Church where he was baptized at an early age under the leadership of the late Reverend S.A. Nelson.
Odie was a loving Son, Father, Nephew, Cousin, and Friend, known to be humble, gentle, kind, and very giving. He was also a talented musician- accomplished on the bass guitar, lead guitar, and the drums.
After 45 blessed years, Odie completed his last season on Thursday, September 27, 2007. He leaves a rich heritage and loving memories in the hearts of his Family and friends. Odie will be greeted and shouted into Glory by his beloved Grandmother, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins who preceded him.
Those who remain to celebrate his life and continue his legacy include his loving Mother, Marianne Bolden; Father Andrew Phillips; six Children: Brandon, Shaboni, Prince, Ricky, Jasmine, and Quincy; his Children's Mother, Lisa Simpson; a brother; Antwoine Milton (Elizabeth); eight Grandchildren; a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
The final tribute will be on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in the Beebe Memorial CME Church, 700 South 7th in Muskogee. Prophetess Jacqueline Harris of Turning Point New Deliverance Ministries will officiate. Burial will follow in the Taft City Cemetery in Taft, Oklahoma.
You may visit "Odie" as he slumbers in the Chapel of Remembrance of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., in Muskogee on Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM.
