Obituary

Prentis B. Lyday, better known as "bobie" to family and friends, was born March 9, 1917 in Eufaula, Oklahoma, the son of B. E. Lyday and Julia L. Lyday. He grew up and received his education in Eufaula. He married LaVern Morris in 1938 in Muskogee and their union was blessed with 2 children, Donald and Juliette. He later met Lillian Fourston and they had 2 children, Linda and Anthony. Prentis moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1948, where he was employed as an auto technician at Hometown Service Station for many years. He later worked for Mandel's, a local printing company. Most mornings, he began his day with a walk at the old Capitol Court mall. He would then proceed to his favorite eatery, Perkins Restaurant. He enjoyed watching all sports, with football and basketball as his favorites. He also enjoyed socializing, joking and kidding with his family and friends. Mr. Lyday fell asleep into the hands of the Lord on January 6, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter. He leaves behind; 2 sons, Donald Lyday, Los Angeles, CA and Anthony Fourston, Milwaukee, WI; a daughter, Linda Jackowitz, Milwaukee, WI; 3 brothers. Eldin H. Lyday, Muskogee, OK, Caspar W. Lyday and Cleatus M. Lyday, Milwaukee, WI; 3 sisters, Lula Mae Watkins, Muskogee, OK, Ruby Knox, Detroit, MI and Naomi Stephens, Pasadena, CA; along with a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral for Mr. Lyday was held on Friday, January 13, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the Northwest Funeral Chapel in Milwaukee, WI. Rev. Dr. Eleanor Cardens officiated.
