IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Raymond "Bean"
Eugene Porter
July 1, 1963 – September 27, 2020
Sunrise:
On July 1, 1963, a joyful, baby boy was born to Raymond Sr., and Betty Miller Porter. Then named him Raymond Eugene Porter, Jr., after his father. Through childhood, he was affectionately called "Bean", a name that followed him all of his life. He attended school at Dubois in Summit and also in Tullahassee, Oklahoma.
Bean was a man of laughter and a man who loved family. Bean was proud of his family and would often times let you know he was "Porter Strong." He would always say "If you are a Porter, you know I got your back!"
In 1999, he met the love of his life, Audrey Battle, whom he affectionately called her his wife. He always said that she saved his life.
Sunset:
On September 27, 2020, at 4:52 AM, he heard the Master's call, with his wife and family by his side. He took the Master's hand and found eternal rest. Those family members meeting him at Heaven's gates; his grandparents, his parents, his siblings, Leroy and Tina, his nephew, Ron Edwards and his uncles, Phillip, Robert and Albert.
Those family members that remain waiting for that Great Reunion; his wife, Audry Battle; his children, Davonte Miller, Taraji Cooper, Mikayla Cooper and Jacquline Miller; his bonus children that he raised as his own, Ebony and Glen Battle; three grandchildren; his sister, Judy K. Peal; special nieces, Takeisha Brooks and Colby Alexander; and a caravan of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
The Hour of Remembrance for "Bean" will commence on Friday morning, October 9, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
