Mr. Raymond Foreman, age 85 and a resident of Vian, Oklahoma, passed from life to eternity on Sunday, July 20, 2008 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
Raymond Foreman was born on March 6, 1923, the 2nd of two sons born to Jessie Mae Releford and Jerry Foreman in Redland, Oklahoma [Foreman Community].
He attended Foreman Elementary School and enjoyed outdoor sports, including hunting and fishing. He was employed at Excell Meat Packing Company in Wichita, Kansas and retired after 23 years of employment.
On June 6, 1942, he was united in marriage to Lola Mae [Billie] Clayton. Their union was blessed with 7 children; Jerry, Rayjond Lee, Damon Joe, Mable Louise, James Arthur, Rachel Raye and Mary Jane.
He later married Shirley Powell and from that union, a daughter was born, Amanda Alice.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Manuel [Buster] Foreman.
Mr. Foreman leaves to lament his passing; his sons, Jerry Foreman [Jessie], Wichita, Kansas, Raymond L. Foreman [Hilda], Porter, Oklahoma, Damon J. Foreman [Kathy], Strassburg, Colorado, James A. Foreman [Elizabeth], Florissant, Missouri; his daughters, Mable L. Hicks, Florissant, Missouri, Rachel R. Foreman and Mary J. Foreman, both of Wichita, Kansas and Amanda A. Foreman, Colorado Springs, Colorado; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great gandchild; and a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the Shady Grove Baptist Church, Roland, Oklahoma. Reverend Daniel Clayton, Pastor and Reverend Fitzgerald Barnum, Officiating. Burial will follow in the Center Point Cemetery at Redland, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be on Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM at the funeral home in Muskogee and beginning at 12 Noon at the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Roland.
