Mr. Raymond Eugene Porter, Sr., after 71 years, answered the Master's call on Monday, August 18, 2014 from Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Mr. Raymond Eugene Porter, Sr., was born on October 12, 1942 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was the fourth of twelve children born from the loving union of Robert Porter, Sr., and Fannie [Jackson] Porter.
While yet at an impressionable age, Raymond heard the Gospel and was baptized by his father. He attended Wheatley Elementary School, Sadler Jr. High and Manual Training High School before entering the United States Army.
After his honorable discharge, Raymond's professional life included employment by Nelson Furniture Company, Shawnee Heights Apartments, Arrowhead Mall and Muskogee Public Schools.
Upon entering the military, Raymond married Betty Miller and from this union, two children were born; Raymond Jr., and Tina. After this union was dissolved, he met Viola McFarland and they had one daughter, Sonja. Later, he married Patricia Houston and helped her raise 7 children; Melinda, Ethel, Paulina, Stacy, Ulysses, Leroy and Judy. He loved all of the children that entered his life and worked hard to support them.
Both Raymond and Patricia loved to go fishing as a hobby. He loved his family and he would help anyone who needed help.
In his 71st year, on Monday, August 18, 2014, he closed his eyes on earth but woke up in Glory. Mr. Porter was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, a daughter, two brothers, and a sister.
