On May 29, 1929, a handsome and precious baby boy was born to Leo Paul Dean and Fannie Mae Scroggins. They named him Raymond.
He grew up in Grayson, Oklahoma and later moved to Okmulgee, Oklahoma, where he met and married the love of his life, Hettie Lee Hawkins. To this union, nine children were born.
Mr. Dean served his Country honorably in the United States Army, and retired from the City of Okmulgee after many loyal years of service. Occasionally, he would attend Church with his children at St. Mary's Christian Center in Okmulgee.
He transitioned from "life to everlasting" on Sunday, March 28, 2010 from Okmulgee. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 45 years in 1996, Hettie Lee.
He leaves behind to carry on his legacy; four daughters, Loretta Dean, Redland, California, Roberta Rice, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Edna Kennedy and LaShawn Dean, both of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; three sons, Raymond Dean Jr. [Theresa], Ronald Lee Dean [Mary], and Michael Dean [Sheila], all of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; a brother, Jimmy Dean, Okmulgee, Oklahoma; twenty-two grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The final hour will be on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. in the Northwest Chapel Baptist Church. Rev. Leroy Crawford, Sr., Pastor and Pastor Thaddeus Thompson, Officiating. Burial will follow in Northwest Cemetery.
