In Blakely, Georgia there was a family of four sisters that were raised by their grandparents, May Belle (Tiller) and Walter Clovis. They were the Wilson sisters, named, Marion, Susie, Catherine, and Carolyn. Losing their mother, Mary Elizabeth Ryals-Wilson at an early age solidified these young ladies growing into adulthood with an unbreakable sister bond. So much so, that when Susie Ryals-Wilson and O'Dell Good welcomed their son, Rayna Antonio Wilson Sr. into the world on April 3, 1966, the sisters already decided they were going to be more than aunts. They would serve as additional mothers for Rayna and all the other children that would come between the sisters. This allowed for all the first cousins to be raised together, like siblings.
Rayna was the leader, being the oldest he probably got away with the most. He is the only one that never had to put Aunt in front of Carol's name. He's probably the reason Marion has the nickname of 'Tee' shortened from Auntie – still today. When Rayna was about 18 months old, the entire family moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma. Rayna, affectionately called 'Nay' by his family and friends was a happy little boy. He would play with his toys for hours and would figure out how to fix any of them that were broken. His Aunt Tee's husband, Ray Lewis, treated Nay as a son and when school was out the pair would work on projects together. Nay learned his great work ethic from his Uncle Ray. He wasn't afraid of hard work.
Rayna received his education through the Muskogee Public School System. He was a proud graduate of Muskogee High School, Class of 1984. He continued his education at the Indian Capitol Vo-Tech, followed by attending OSU-Okmulgee Tech where he excelled in multiple trades.
In his adult life, family members and friends knew they could call on Nay to help them with electrical projects and especially car issues. Nay was a quick learner and paid close attention to instruction and details. He just had a knack for understanding how things worked and that skill made him a great heavy equipment operator, mechanic, and construction worker. He worked for the City of Muskogee for a while, and he even drove semi's across the country. Besides excelling in school- Nay was a good athlete. He played football, baseball and ran track. He just didn't really like playing sports as much as his little brothers, Reggie (Moosie) and Rodney (Pooh bear). But he was their biggest cheer leader. He was a great protector of his siblings and cousins and tried to be a positive role model for all of them.
He made the best decision he could ever make and each sibling and cousin after him followed suit. He gave his life to Christ when he was 8 years old. It was at the Church of the Living God under Rev. Thomas Fullbright. In 1977, at 12 years old Rayna felt led to rededicated his life to Christ under the leadership of Rev. Jesse Barnes.
In his personal life Rayna was blessed with daughters named Keyoka Renee' Thompson and Kescia Nicole Thompson-Shaw and a son named Arenelious Rayna Antonio Brown (d. 8/31/2013). He married Joanna Chaplin and together they had one son, Rayna Antonio Wilson, Jr. After that marriage dissolved Nay married Christina Thornton and the marriage was later dissolved. Rayna loved his family and was a momma's boy. He even gave his mom to be married to the late Dillard 'D.C.' Lee. He regarded 'D.C.' as a father, not a step dad, and because his aunt-moms as we will refer to them, loved him as their first son when they were married their spouses understood the dynamics of the family and never wavered in loving and caring for Nay. His Uncle Ray and Uncle Lawrence were always there for him just as he was always there for them. Nay didn't speak many words but his actions always showed his love. In his spare time Nay loved to fish and hunt, He was definitely an outdoors man.
In the early morning of May 8th, 2022 while outdoors, Rayna fell ill, and was admitted to Saint Francis Hospital, Muskogee. He remained there and fought for seven days, until his body couldn't fight anymore and his spirit was visited by loved ones that had finished their race and greeted his soul in the clouds during the early morning of May 15th.
Preceding Rayna in crossing over were: his son - Arenelious Brown; his brother - Rodney Terrell Wilson; Father - Dillard 'D.C.' Lee and his beloved Aunt Cathy (Catherine )Thompson.
Those left to cherish his memory include: His mom - Susie Lee; brother -Reginald 'Reggie-Moosie' Wilson; his children - Keyoka, Kescia , Rayna Jr (Kia); his grand daughters Mashayla, Etheyla and Raelyn and grand son Javon. Aunt Marion 'Tee' and Uncle Ray Lewis, Aunt Carolyn Virgin, and Uncle Lawrence Thompson. He also leaves a niece and nephew, his cousins-siblings and host of other relatives and friends that will forever cherish his memory.
