Regina Kay Bankston

On May 17th 1956 Elmer and Nathella Dixon were blessed with a beautiful baby girl whom they lovingly named Regina. She was affectionately known as Kay.

Regina gave her life to Christ at a young age under Rev. Davis of First Baptist Church Haskell, Ok. Her love for the Lord was enormous.

Regina attended Booker T Washington Haskell, Ok. After schooling Regina gave birth to her first-born child Floyd Lawayne. In 1982 she moved to San Antonio Tx. Where she met and married Walter Ray and to that union one daughter was born, they named her Desiree.

Throughout her life, Regina was a hard worker. For many years, she served as head cook for Piccadilly and Luby’s Café, traveling to help open many Luby’s locations across several states. Her final employer before retirement was El Jalapeño. Regina loved to cook, and after retiring, she enjoyed spending her free time picking and cleaning wild onions and babysitting her grandchildren.

Ms. Regina Kay Bankston, in her 70th season of life, "dozed into the peaceful rest of eternal slumber" on Saturday afternoon, August 8, 2026 from Tulsa, Oklahoma. As she would say “I’m a soldier in the Army of the Lord”.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents Elmer and Nathella , her late husband Walter, father-in-law C W Bankston, her two brothers Cedric and Billy, two brothers in laws Wayne Jackson and Cleveland Bledsoe, one sister-in-law Darlene Hopson.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son Floyd Lawayne, one daughter Desiree and mother-in-law Loretta. Two bonus sons Jeffery and Jason. Grandkids, Jordan, Shelbie, Dallyn, Cedric, Keelin, Kason, Stacia, KJ, Keo, Nick, Taylor and Zoey. Bonus grandkids Jr and Shawn-Shawn. One special son Notch. And a host of great grandchildren. One brother Lewis, Four sisters Debra, Shelia, Paulette, Donna Sue. And a host of nieces and nephews and family and friends who she loved dearly.

Revelation 21:4 reminds me the God will wipe away every tear, and there will be no more death or pain.

The Sacred Farewell for Regina will commence on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at High Noon in the most holy sanctuary of First Baptist Church- Haskell.
