Obituary

On January 26, 1966 a baby boy was born to John Iran Boyd and Andelia Jean Carter. His educational journey began at John Burroughs Elementary, Carver Middle School, culminating with his graduation from Booker T. Washington High School with the class of 1984. He also graduated from Langston University with a Bachelors Degree. He was employed with Lewis and Clark Middle School as a Para-professional of children with Purpose Christian Day School for 15 years.

Reginald began his Christian walk at Hope of Glory Church under the leadership of Apostle Ernest Jackson. He later moved to Atlanta, Georgia and attended New Revelation Church under the leadership of Lonnie White, III. Upon his return back to Tulsa, Oklahoma, he joined Praise Center Family Church under Pastors Steven and Pamela Wiley. He completed his journey at Vision Outreach Center under Pastors William and Shari Tisdale.

"Reggie" was a big old lovable teddy bear with an infectious smile and laughter. Negativity was not in his nature. He loved life and loved serving God. He cherished his family. He had a favorite saying. If you asked him, "Reggie how are you doing?" he would respond, "Blessed and Highly Favored." Reggie studied God's word with his family and lived it before the World. He will be missed, and forever remembered.

He surrendered his soul to Jesus on Saturday October 17, 2009 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He leaves in God's care, his loving wife Nichelle of 17 years; two sons: Allen and Anthony, one daughter, Miracle, his mother, Andelia Jean Carter, one brother, Bythe Body (Diedra), five sisters: Michelle Peters, Renee Shoates (Troy), Retha Carter, Kris Carter, Kathy Carter, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Services will be Friday October 23, 2009 at 1PM at Praise Center Family Church in Tulsa. Visitation for Mr. Reggie Carter will be Thursday in The All Faiths Chapel in Tulsa.
