Obituary

After 73 years Renaldo, fell asleep in death on Tuesday morning, August 4, 2015 at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma surrounded by family and friends.

On November 11, 1941 Renaldo was the second child born to Winthrop Jones Boulware and Delores Card Boulware. Ronnie, as he was known, graduated from Manual Training High School with the class of 1960 and then attended Langston University and Texas Western University before entering the Army serving two years during the Vietnam era. He was honorably discharged in 1965. Ronnie worked for the Muskogee Country Club then joined the Muskogee City Fire Department in 1966 being the first African-American Firefighter in Muskogee, retiring as the first African-American Captain in 1982. He was a lifelong member of First Missionary Baptist Church Muskogee, Oklahoma being baptized there as a youth.
Ronnie was special to many people because he was a caring person who was always there for you. He personally and lovingly cared for his mother for many years until her death. He was especially attentive to the elderly with whatever and whenever they needed him. He was known for his smile and jokes. He loved to cook and he loved music and he loved people. What brought him the greatest joy was not only his grandchildren but all the children that knew him and also called Paw Paw,Grandpa and Uncle Ronnie.

He married Viola Perkins and from this union was born Christopher Marcus. This union was dissolved. And later, on March 28, 1986 Ronnie married Barbara Fennell whom he shared the remaining years of his life.

He was affectionately called Paw Paw and Grandpa by his twenty-three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren that he loved dearly and who loved him deeply as well.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Winthrop Boulware Jr. and Rudy Wilbur Boulware, sister Verina Bell Boulware Brown.

He leaves to remember him his loving and devoted wife Barbara, children Ronnie (Angela "Von") Chairs, Cynthia LaVette Fennell (Mike) Sanford, Christopher Marcus Boulware, Debbie Faye Boyattia (Augustus) Jones, Kristy Dawn Jackson, twenty-Three Grandchildren and nine Great-grandchildren, two brothers Reginal (Elzora) of Kansas City, Missouri, Keith "Ricci" (Eva) of San Jose, California, one sister Lavern Ausbie (Willie) Stewart of Dallas, Texas, one Aunt, Virginia Card of Kansas City, Missouri, four Sister-in Laws Jerri Hudson of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Helen Jackson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jeannie Lawson of San Antonio, Texas and Doris Boulware of Muskogee, Oklahoma, special cousins Lewis Marcus Simmons of Los Angeles, California, and Cheniia Holloway of Wichita, Kansas, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services for Mr. Boulware will be Monday August 10, 2015 at 11AM at The Muskogee Civic Center.

Friends may visit Mr. Boulware on Sunday from 3PM until 5PM in Muskogee
