Obituary

On September 8, 1955, a bundle of joy was delivered to the proud couple of Forest and Olivia King Banks in Boley, Oklahoma. That bundle of joy was a bouncing baby girl named Renna Nian. She was the ninth child born to the union. Known to many as Nian, she began her formal education in Bearden. She graduated with the proud class of Okemah High School in 1977. She obeyed the gospel at an early age.

After graduation, Nian moved to Wichita, Kansas and developed an interest in horses and rodeos, where she competed professionally in barrel racing. She would move to Tulsa where she continued to follow the rodeo circuit. Nian was employed at Rockwell International and D. Boeing Company.

She was a nurturer and caregiver. She gave shelter to others in need by opening her home to care for her mother and sister as their health declined. She was a mother in the truest sense of the word. She encouraged and supported her children in their endeavors and strived to make their dreams a reality. Nian was a surrogate mom to an untold number of young people with special love and care for those participating in the rodeo circuits. Always a farm girl at heart, she loved her animals, raising and training horses and enjoying that life with her family and extended family. She will be missed by many.

Nian's parents, and two sisters, Donna Hope and Oletha Ferndell preceded her in death. Remaining to cherish her precious memories: her companion, Willard Earl Mitchell, a son Terrance born to the union, a son, Donald James Fue, daughter Chantell Fue, both of Tulsa, OK., three grandchildren; Donald Fue, III, Traevon Frazier Fue, Sebron Fue, three brothers; Charles and Margaret Banks, Okemah, OK., Ronald and Elsie Banks, Okemah, OK., Cheto and Pam Banks, Lawton, OK., three sisters; Dollie and Arnelious Crenshaw, Ollie Smotherman, both of Oklahoma City, OK., Linda and Albert Rice, Shawnee, Oklahoma, and a host of relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1PM on Saturday November 24, 2007 at the All Faiths Chapel.
