Obituary

JUDSON FIELDS, JR., was born to Judson Fields, Sr., and Nettie

Slaughter Fields on November 9, 1948, in Vernon, Oklahoma. He was

the seventh of ten children born from their union. Judson, Jr., attended

and graduated from Luther High School in 1966, where he was active

in sports, including basketball and baseball. After graduation, Judson

went on to serve in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Korea. He

also attended Okmulgee Tech, where he met the love of his life, Joyce

Grayson. They were married on July 1, 1972, and from this union they

were blessed with three girls, Lynette, Stacey, and Alkila.

At an early age, Judson's grandmother affectionately named him

"Bishop" because he always had his hands in his pockets, and kept his

clothes neat and clean, and his shoes shined. In the Fields family, he

was known as "Bishop" and "Uncle Bishop." He accepted Christ at an

early age and years later, his grandmother's nickname became a reality.

While under the leadership of Pastor C.J. Jeffery, Jr., he accepted his call

to the ministry and served as an associate minister of the Macedonia

Baptist Church in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was ordained in 1989 and

called to pastor the Union Baptist Church in Grayson, Oklahoma. After

pastoring Union Baptist for thirteen years, he was called to pastor his

home church, Macedonia Baptist Church in 2002 as the Senior Pastor,

where he served until his passing.

Although pastoring was a full-time job, he provided for his family

working as a plant operator at Phillips 66, until he retired. Pastor

Fields earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Christian Education

from Oklahoma Baptist University and went on to earn his Bachelor

and Master Degrees from Andersonville Theological Seminary and

Doctorate of Theology Degree from Slidell Baptist Seminary. He also

served as an instructor for the Oklahoma School of Religion and the

2nd Vice-Moderator of the Collate District Baptist Association. He

was a true man of faith that did not compromise the gospel for anyone.

He was a mentor, encourager, and spiritual father to many. He was a

faithful servant of God and was obedient to God's Word and Ministry.

Early Sunday Morning, on May 4, God smiled on him and he answered

the Master's call. He was preceded in death by his parents, Judson

Fields, Sr., and Nettie Slaughter Fields; wife, Joyce Fields; daughter,

Lynn Ivey; four brothers, Sylvester, Leslie, Paul, Sr., and Ernest, Sr.;

and two sisters, Oneta James and Ora Lee (Monroe) Hester.

Judson leaves to cherish his memories: daughters, Stacey (William)

Harris and Alkila Gray; grandchildren, Jordan Ivey, Christian (Alexi)

Ivey, Isaiah Harris, Vincent Harris, Laila Harris, and Aubrey "Theo"

Lewis; brothers, Ledford Fields and Dr. Marcellus Fields; sister,
