Muskogee

The Reverend Kenneth Sylvester Green, in his 69th season of life, transitioned to "Church Triumphant" on Thursday morning, January 8, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with his loving family near his side. In the summer of 1956, Jesse and Vivian (Lewis) Green were blessed with their first son on the 23rd of August. He was named Kenneth Slyvester Green.

He was a lifelong resident of Muskogee. Kenneth attended Douglas Elementary and ultimately graduated from Muskogee High School in 1975. Kenneth was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church, where he served faithfully in many capacities. He served as an Associate Minister at and was a Sunday school teacher. He met and married Sharon Denison, and to this union on August 19, 1979, they welcomed a healthy baby boy. They named him Kevin Bernard Green. Our mom nicknamed him “Kevinsome”. Later in life, he met and married Margaret Trimble (aka Margaret Bell). He and Margaret were married for 29 years until his death.

He provided for his family at Coburn Optical for 16 yrs. When he left there, he decided he wanted to drive trucks. For 7yrs he drove for Trucks For You and enjoyed traveling the world. He later went to work for the City of Muskogee, where he worked for 16 yrs until retirement. As a believer in Christ, he was faithful and a committed husband. His lifelong friend was Gary Warrior. They played and fought together. He gave him the nickname “Thriller”. He was famous for giving nicknames to his family and loved ones.

Early in the morning on January 8th, 2026, God whispered in Kenneth’s ear, and he left this life for a better one. He is preceded in death by his grandparents ~ Hubert and Viola Lewis, his mother ~ Vivian (Lewis) Green Hood, his father ~ Jessie Green, Jr., and his brother ~ Donald Oscar Green. Kenneth leaves to cherish his memory Margaret Green, his son Kevin (Chevon) Green (Muskogee), Bonus sons Kenneth Green (Texas), Jonathan Gross (OKC), and Clarence Edwards (Muskogee). His sisters ~ Pamela Ragsdale (John) of Muskogee, Paula (Special Brother In-law Larry) Tease of Tulsa, his brothers ~Walter Lowe, Bruce Lowe, and John Lowe, all of OKC, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, and other relatives. 

The Hour of Remembrance for Reverend Green will commence at Two Hours into the Afternoon on Saturday, January 17, 2026.  in the St. Mark Baptist Church.  Reverend Rodger Cutler, Pastor, will officiate. The Christian Committal and Burial will follow in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery..
