Elijah Nash was born October 6, 1934 in the Edna, Oklahoma Community to the late Elijah Nash, Sr. and Odessa Thomas Nash. To this union, ten children were born. Elijah was the third in the union. Elijah graduated from L'Omerture High School in Slick, Oklahoma. He joined the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge. Elijah accepted Christ at an early age at Tuskegee Baptist Church in Edna, Ok. He loved to sing, pray, and teach the Gospel. After leaving home he united with St. Luke Baptist Church in Tulsa, Ok. There he served as a Deacon, Youth Choir Director, and Sunday School Teacher until he returned home to care for his family. On returning home, he became very active in his home church, Tuskegee Baptist Church. There, he was Chairman of the Deacon Board, Choir Director, Sunday School Superintendent, and later became the proud pastor of the church he grew up in; Tuskegee Baptist Church (Praise God)! Elijah served in many positions in the Sunday School and Baptist Training Union Institute (a group of churches in the Okmulgee and Creek Counties also known as B.T.U.) as teacher, and the Institute's program organizer, and president for many years. He was a true servant of God and he loved the Lord.
His career days consisted of being manager at Sears Department Store in Tulsa where he retired after over 20 years working in Building and Construction, the owner of E.J. Nash Dozier and Winch Service, and a very successful farmer where he shared his goods with many. Elijah was a member of the Masonic Body Bethel Lodge No. 38, of Beggs, Ok and served as Worthy Patron of the Golden Link Chapter No. 130 OES for several years. In his 20s, Elijah met and married Delois Bagby and to this union, three children were born: Desmond G. Nash, Kimberly Ann Nash Lyons, and Elijah Nash, III. Later, in 1988 Elijah married Lubertha Clark, and helped raise her three boys: Galen, Roderick, and Ronnie.
Both parents, two younger siblings, a brother Rev. Raymond Nash, and a sister Mary Frances Johnson Nash preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his precious memory: his faithful companion, Lubertha, his three children: Desmond G.
