Obituary

God was indeed gracious and smiled on Beverly Mae Jefferson, when she gave birth to Richard Jefferson, in Mounds, Oklahoma. Richard was born on December 26, 1953. He attended school in Beggs, Oklahoma, where he lived with Sarah and Monroe Brown.

He attended Langston University and graduated in three years, with a BA in Education on December 18,1975. He pledged Kappa Alpha Psi in 1974, which was founded on January 5, 1911, at Indiana University.

He lived for a while in Wichita, Kansas. He returned to Oklahoma, and bought a house in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He taught school in Tulsa and Sapulpa, Oklahoma. After teaching, he worked for Memorex Telex, and worked his last job as a computer specialist at the Bank of Oklahoma. He met Brenda Oliver on Jefferson street in Stillwater, Oklahoma, while she was attending OSU. Years later he met up with Brenda in Tulsa. She had given her life to Christ, and was filled with the Holy Ghost. Richard gave his life to Christ. He proposed to Brenda and they were married on his birthday on December 26, 1979. They were married for 44 years. They have two adult children. Their names are Faith I. Jefferson and Richard Jefferson. Faith has given birth to three children, Caleb D. Black, Kevin E. Black, and Kiara R. Black.

Richard and Brenda established a church, Faith Outreach Ministry, after they left Northside Christian Center. Together they had many revivals around Tulsa, Oklahoma. Richard also had a prison ministry. He worked in the ministry in Beggs, Oklahoma with sister Lovelace. He had a ministry in Muskogee, Oklahoma and Boynton, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Jefferson, his brother Darrell Carter, and his nephew, Bobby Carter.

Remaining to cherish Richard and his legacy is, his wife, Brenda Jefferson, his children, Faith Jefferson, Richard "Isaiah" Jefferson, his grandchildren, Caleb Black, Kevin Black, and Kiara Black, his brother and sisters, Ricky Organs, Rhonda (Alan) Carter, Dannie (Bridgette) Carter, Janet (Raymond) Carter-Sargent, Steve Carter, Beverly Elaine (Eddie) Irvin, Tracy (Bobby Smith) Carter, Donald (Julie) Carter, special cousins, Clifford Jefferson, Anthony Pettigrew, Tina Dunn, Charlotte Tea, and Patricia Sheppard, and a host of extended family and friends.

Mr. Richard Jefferson, In his 69th Season, Transitioned to Eternal Rest on the Morning of Tuesday November 14, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Services will be Saturday December 2, 2023 at 12PM inside Biglow's All Faiths Chapel in Tulsa.

Friends may visit Mr. Jefferson on Friday December 1, 2023 from 1PM until 6PM in Tulsa.
