Richard A. Shawkey, Sr.  was born on April 4, 1946 in Buffalo, New York. He was the son of Adam & Louise Shawkey.

Richard graduated from high school in Riverside, California.

He was inducted into the United States Army, and served a tour in the Vietnam War and eventually was Honorably Discharged.

Richard had several different endeavors throughout his workforce such as factory work and heavy equipment operator.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister Ann Weir.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his son Richard Shawkey, Jr.; step-son, Mark T. Williams; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Mr. Richard Adams Shawkey, Sr., in his 75th year, passed from this life on Monday morning, January 17, 2022 from his home in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

A Memorial Service will take place on Sunday, January 23,  2022 at 2:00PM in The People's Chapel of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc.,-Muskogee.

Interment for Mr. Richard Adams Shawkey, Sr., will take place on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.

Military Honors will be performed in honor of Mr. Richard Adams Shawkey, Sr.
