On October 26, 1939 a son was born to Claude and Marie Alexander of Bald Hill, Oklahoma. They named this handsome boy Robert Alexander, known to all as "Ruff."
Robert was raised in Bald Hill by his loving mother and father, where he attended Harper's Chapel Grade School (Okmulgee County) and Wheatley High School in Beggs Oklahoma. He was very active and well liked by all in school, and went on to join and become a member of Concharty Indian Church. (Okmulgee County)
Robert married Marilyn Hollis, and to this union five lovely children were born. He resided in the Haskell Bald Hill area until his health began to fail.
He was in Muskogee Regional Hospital where he quietly slipped away on October 25, 2010. He was preceded in death by his daughter Rosalind McHenry, and Robert Jr.
He leaves to cherish three daughters: Diane, Coweta, OK, Mary, Tulsa, OK, Pam, and Tulsa, OK. Two sons: Anthony, Haskell, OK. Eric, Tulsa, OK. One brother: Albert Alexander, Bald Hill, OK. A host of grandchildren, great-grand children, nieces, nephews, and a special friend; Frances Rollins.
The Service of Memory for "Rough" will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Landmark Church in Haskell, Oklahoma. Reverend Homer L. Stidham, Pastor of Eastside First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Haskell Cemetery.
