Mr. Robert L. Mims, in his 31st year, surrendered his soul on Saturday, October 20, 2007 in Kansas City, Missouri.

A bouncing, baby boy was born to Sharee Mims on July 11, 1976 in Bronx, New York. He was named Robert L. Mims and was welcomed home by his big brother, Gregory and later LaShonda. Robert received plenty of love and direction from his grandmother, Lydia Mims, whom he loved very dearly.

At a young age, Robert moved from New York to Oklahoma, where his family made their home. Searching for spiritual guidance, he united with Evangelist Temple Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend J. L. Strawther.

After graduation from High School, Robert embarked upon his career as a Telemarketer in the surrounding area. He also possesed another gift; rapping and writing lyrics for songs. He also enjoyed cooking for his family and friends whenever possible.

Wanting more out of life, Robert moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he lived until his death. After 31 years with us, Robert surrendered his Soul on Saturday, October 20, 2007 from Kansas City. Welcoming him home to Heaven were his grandparents and great-grandparents.

He leaves to cherish his memory; three children, Robert L. "Bear" Mims, Jefre Nelson and Charity Mims; his mother, Sharee Mims, Muskogee, Oklahoma; a brother, Gregory & Cynthia Mims, Muskogee, Oklahoma; his sister, LaShonda [Sweetie] Mims, Tulsa, Oklahoma; two aunts, Lori Mims, Kansas City, Missouri and Tanya [Tina], New York; two great-aunts, Rhonda Spigner, Muskogee and Gracie Logan, Oktaha; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in the St. Mark Baptist Church. Rev. Terry Garrett will officiate. Burial will follow in the Community Cemetery at Oktaha, Oklahoma.
