Obituary

Robert James Perkins, III was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, on August 21, 1982 to the proud parents, Robert Jr., and Karen Perkins.

Better known as "Robb" by family and friends, he grew up in Muskogee, where he attended Muskogee Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 2001 with Academic Honors. During his high school years, he participated in sports and other extra-curricular activities. At an early age, he also developed a passion for music, playing the piano and singing.

After graduating from high school, "Robb" was accepted to the University of Tulsa, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Graphic Design. While attending T.U., he demonstrated his graphic, musical and artistic talents throughout the entire compus community.

Shortly after graduation from college, "Robb" was hired as a graphic designer for the high school sports magazine, VYPE Magazine. During his three and a half years with the company, his contributions quickly soared them to success, as he designed for all seven publications; in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Arkansas, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston , Louiville, Kentucky and Indianapolis, Indiana.

"Robb" accepted Christ, uniting with Rayfield Baptist Church under the Pastoral Leadership of Reverend Leroy Walker, Sr.

He enjoyed traveling, music, reading and cars and was a member of the Dodge Charger Club of Tulsa. "Robb" was a loving and devoted son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend and co-worker. "Robb" is described by some family members as "Little Robb", but he towered high in character. He reached out to others in his own, gentle and humble manner. He embraced many friends and won the trust and respect of those with whom he came in contact with.

Early Tuesday morning, June 29, 2010, "Robb" was called home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory; his loving mother, Karen Perkins; his brother, Reginald Eugene, Langston, Oklahoma; his maternal grandmother, Florine Montgomery; his paternal grandfather, Robert Perkins, Sr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and a caravan of friends.
