Obituary

On July 23, 1948, in the New Hope Community of Oktaha, Oklahoma, a baby boy was born to Louis and Reeder [Thompson] Walker.  He was the eighth of twelve children and they named him Robert Louie Walker.
At the age of 10, he gave hi life to Christ and joined Saint Paul Baptist Church in Taft, Oklahoma.  He was a devoted member and later in life, he was ordained as a Deacon and served in this capacity for 30+ years until his health failed him.
On February 7, 1988, he married the love of his life, Thelma Lang.  Even though he didn't have any biological children, his wife had four, whom he loved and treated like his own.
Robert was a people person, he never met a stranger and if you needed encouragement, all you had to do was stop by Roberts house and you would leave with a smile on your face.  He loved his siblings and  he had a special love for his nieces and nephews.
Early Sunday morning, December 1, 2019, Robert entered the last phase of his life's journey.  He walked out of this world and entered into the Heavenly gates, where he was greeted by his Father and Mother, Louie and Reeder Walker, his brothers, Broyce, Ryder, Henry and James, and his sisters, Brenda Joyce, Lillie Mae and Anita.
Those he leaves to witness his home going;  his wife, Thelma Lang Walker;  his step-children, Henry L. Winston, Jr.[ Anrea], RoShell Hamilton, Sheri Wilson [Rudell], and Nathan Lang;  his sister, Mae Lois; his brothers, John Walker [Joyce], Jimmy Walker [Valarie], Lonnie Walker and Louie Walker, Jr.; and a caravan of other relatives, friends and a special and dear friend, Earl Davis.
